West Riding of Yorkshire IA.
We are a patient led support group, which aims to help people who have had their bowel removed.
Individiuals sometimes need their colon (large bowel) removing because of Crohn's disease, because of Ulcerative Colitis, because of a range of other Inflammatory Bowel Diseases such as FAP, or because of Bowel Cancer.
Whatever the reason for needing to have the colon removed, we aim to help people adjust to life after surgery by offering support, friendship and advice.
We work closely with hospitals in Leeds (Leeds General Infirmary and St. James'), hospitals in Bradford (St. Luke's and Bradford Royal Infirmary), Airedale General Hosptial and Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield.
Through our own experiences of living with either an ileostomy or an internal pouch, we can offer practical and realistic advice alongside the medical professionals, in a way which people find helpful and supportive.
Take time to look around our site and learn more about the work which we do.
